Ted next door has been busy with the chainsaw. He has been doing a fantastic job at cutting up the massive willow trees that were dumped – sorry, delivered – by the highways guys the other week (see earlier post). I can almost see the driveway again.
By the time Ted is done, all four cottages are going to have a couple of tonnes of firewood each for the cost of his chainsaw fuel and oil. Nice one! The only downside is that we won’t be able to use the wood until next winter. In the meantime we still have plenty of seasoned ash from the Wye National Nature Reserve which is keeping us warm on this dark, rainy afternoon.
